BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan -- Staff Sgt. Danielle Sempter (left), a medic, 1st Lt. Kathryn Graves, an engineer, and Army Sgt. Jo Ashley, a women's empowerment coordinator, talk about the meeting they attended on women's affairs in the Panjshir valley. Female servicemembers deployed to Forward Operating Base Lion work hand in hand with the local Afghan women, teaching them things like first aid and how to increase their crop output. Sergeant Sempter is deployed from Ramstein Air Base, Germany and is from Swansborough, N.C., while Lt. Graves is from New York City and is deployed from Luke Air Force Base, Ariz. Sergeant Ashley is from Frankfurt, Ky., and is part of the Kentucky Agribusiness Development Team (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Susan Tracy)
