Military Working Dog training
BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan -- Staff Sgt. Steven Gonzalez, a dog handler from the 455th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron, takes time out of training to reward Military Working Dog, Bruno, for his hard work and obedience here, Oct. 8, 2009. Ensuring the canines are trained on a daily basis assures the effectiveness of the dogs. "We patrol the base perimeter," said Sergeant Gonzalez. "He [Bruno] detects if anyone is outside the wire, he keeps us safe." Sergeant Gonzalez, a Converse, Ind. native, is deployed from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz.
