Loadmasters: A night in the life of C-130 “mission hackers”
Following the airdrop mission over Basra, Iraq, the C-130 crew headed for Balad Air Base, Iraq, to continue their night’s mission. Master Sgt. Larry Lambert, Staff Sgt. Tommy Greeness and Airman 1st Class Zachary Kelhi, 746th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron loadmasters, are met by an Airman upon their arrival there at about 4 a.m. He informed the crew of what type of cargo they would be taking to Baghdad International Airport. The size, amount and type of cargo are the driving factors of how the loadmasters configure the cargo area of the C-130. In this case it was three pallets of paper that needed to be transported to BIAP. (U.S. Air Force photo by Capt. Teresa Sullivan)
