SOUTHWEST ASIA - Capt. Brent Mittelstaedt, 908th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron flight surgeon, echoed the benefits of exercise. Though he added, “Sleep is very important, and most people do not get enough of it.” The doctor says eight hours is desired, but that seven would be sufficient. Another thing people don’t realize, he said, is that one cannot make up for missed rest by sleeping additional hours the next evening. “It normally takes a couple of days to get caught up,” he concluded.
