Historian highlights heritage of 379th AEW

A formation of B-17 Flying Fortresses from the 379th Bombardment Group (Heavy), 524th and 525th Bombardment Squadrons fly over Europe. The 379th BG was presented with the “Grand Slam” award by 8th Air Force, for placing first in every evaluated phase of bombing, including best bombing results, greatest tonnage of bombs dropped and lowest losses of aircraft.
