Base security in K-9 form
BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan - Military working dog Kane shows his bite during training. Staff Sgt. Scott Carpenter, from the 455th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron, holds Kane back until Kane is ready to attack here, Aug. 9. The facilities that the dogs and handlers work and live in were built by the handlers in eight days, which brought the teams closer together and boosted the morale. The facilities were fully operational in three weeks. Sergeant Carpenter has been a handler for a year and a half, and he and Kane are deployed from Peterson Air Force Base, Colo.
