Fueling the Fight

OVER AFGHANISTAN - Capt. Steven Henderson and 1st Lt. Neil Mercer refuel their F-15E Strike Eagle on a mission over Eastern Afghanistan Aug. 2. Soon after the refueling, Captain Henderson and Lieutenant Mercer responded to a call for air support by troops in contact in the Nuristan Province. After a show of force flyover, the insurgents retreated from their attack on the forward operating base.
