U.S. Air Force provides better facility for students in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan -- 1st Lt. Leah Meyer, Deputy Director of Contracting at a base in Southwest Asia, shops for school supplies at an office supply store in Bishkek, July 16, 2009. U.S. Air Force Airmen stationed at the Transit Center at Manas, Kyrgyzstan, and a base in Southwest Asia have been working the project since April 2, 2009. The school's renovation is being paid for by humanitarian funds as well as donations from the U.S. Military members stationed at the Transit Center. Birdik Village School is projected to be complete in September for the new school year. Lieutenant Meyer is deployed from the 1st Contracting Squadron at Langley Air Force Base, Va., and is originally from Alexandria, Minn. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Steele Britton)
