Climbing to new heights
Senior Airman Richard Coyle, and Senior Airman Jonathan Tacto, both cable and antenna maintenance technicians with the 379th Expeditionary Communications Squadron navigate a rope through a pulley system to bring up their tool bag during a preventive maintenance inspection on an antenna tower, June 23, 2009, in an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia. Tools and other supplies are brought up via the rope system allowing personnel to spend more time working on equipment instead of traversing the tower. The 175 ft communications tower holds multiple antennas and provides support for a variety of amenities and services on base, from Armed Forces Network channels to cellular phone reception. Airman Coyle is native to Converse, Texas and is deployed from Langley Air Force Base, Va. while Airman Tacto hails from Kailua, Hawaii and is deployed from Kapaun Air Station, Germany, both in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa.(U.S. Air Force Photo by Staff Sgt.
