Ground Radio Maintaining the Communications
Airmen 1st Class Anthony Arias (left) checks wire connections as Staff Sgt. Jessie Ochs brushes off the solar panel of the giant voice alert system, during a 28 day preventive maintenance inspection, June 22, 2009, at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia. The solar panel provides energy to charge the battery that powers the alert system. Both Airmen are ground radio maintainers with the 379th Expeditionary Communications Squadron. Airman Arias is native to Oakland, Calif. and is deployed from Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash., while Sergeant Ochs hails from Tucson, Ariz. and is deployed from the Arizona Air National Guard, both in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa.
