Panjshir PRT dedicates new Dashtak School well
PANJSHIR PROVINCE, Afghanistan -- Students from the Dashtak School file down the steps into the schoolyard before the dedication of the school's new well October 10. Panjshir Director of Education Riza Rizai opened the ceremony with thanks to the Panjshir Provincial Reconstruction Team for their assistance in making the well a reality for a school that did not have a well previously. Rizai spoke of the importance of education for boys and girls. The Dashtak School is coed, a rarity in Afghanistan. The Panjshir PRT project was funded by the Commander's Emergency Response Program. The students sang the Afghanistan national anthem and other traditional songs. (Photos by Air Force Tech. Sgt. John Cumper).
