Millions of Gallons of Gas for One Mission
Airman 1st Class Brandon Sullivan, a 379th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron fuels distribution operator, writes out a receipt for an issued amount of fuel after refueling a KC-135R Stratotanker, June 10, 2009, at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia. Airman Sullivan pumped 16,083 gallons of JP-8 fuel at 457 gallons per minute through the system to refuel the aircraft. Fuel distribution operators deliver fuel to aircraft around the clock everyday of the year to meet the ongoing demands of the mission. Airman Sullivan hails from Burlington, Iowa and is deployed from Kadena Air Base, Japan, in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa.
