Rigging the Goods
U.S. Army Specialist Marvin Holder, a rigger with the 824th Quarter Master Company, applies safety tape onto an A22-Container Delivery System here, June 3, 2009, in an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia. The safety tape ensures the package will stay connected to the parachute when deployed but is also made to easily tear free after the package has hit the ground. Riggers provide vital supplies to servicemembers throughout the U.S. Central Command's area of responsibility by preparing these supply pallets for air-drop delivery by C-17 Globemaster III aircraft. Specialist Holder is native to Raleigh N.C. and is deployed from Fort Bragg N.C. in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa.
