Final tribute to fallen comrades
BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan -- Army Lt. Col. Steve Lancaster, the new commander for the Panjshir Provincial Reconstruction Team, renders a salute to fallen comrade Lt. Col. Mark Stratton during a memorial ceremony at Forward Operating Base Lion in Panjshir Province May 31. Four members of the reconstruction team were killed May 26 when their convoy vehicle was struck by a suicide car bomber. More than 75 American servicemembers and Afghan leaders paid tribute to Air Force Lt. Col. Mark Stratton, the team's commander, Army Master Sgt. Blue Rowe, civil affairs NCO, Air Force Senior Airman Ashton Goodman, vehicle operator, and Abdul Samad, the unit’s Afghan legal advisor. (Air Force/Staff Sgt. Jason Lake)
