Final tribute to fallen comrades
BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan -- (Center) Chief Master Sgt. Dennis Vannorsdall, 455th Air Expeditionary Wing command chief master sergeant, and Col. James Reed, 755th Air Expeditionary Group commander, talk with Airmen from the Panjshir Provincial Reconstruction Team shortly before a memorial ceremony for four of their fallen comrades May 31. Several Air Force leaders, including Col. Steven Kwast, 455th Air Expeditionary Wing commander, held an Airman's Call before a ceremony that paid tribute to Air Force Lt. Col. Mark Stratton, Army Master Sgt. Blue Rowe, Air Force Senior Airman Ashton Goodman and the unit's legal advisor, Abdul Samad. The four were killed when their convoy vehicle was hit by a suicide car bomber May 26. More than 75 American and Afghan comrades paid one final tribute to their fallen teammates.
