Senior Airman Richard Parvin, a 379th Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron munitions systems journeyman, inspects a KMU-572 fin assembly on a GBU-38 Version 1 bomb, May 22, 2009, at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia. The GBU-38s are assembled and constructed by the base's munitions unit for delivery by B-1B Lancers. Airman Parvin hails from Birmingham, Ala. and is deployed from Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa.
