A Dirt Boy Remembered
Senior Airman Drew Harrison and Airman 1st Class Robert Fischer, both pavement and equipment operators better known as "dirt boyz", from the 379th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron, fold a flag during the memorial ceremony honoring Master Sgt. Evander "Andy" Andrews here, May 15, 2009 in an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia. Master Sgt. Andrews was Operation Enduring Freedom's first fatality. Airman Harrison is native to Austin, Texas and is deployed from Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, while Airman Fischer hails from Jacksonville, Ark. and is deployed from McConnell, Air Force Base, Kan., both in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Combine Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa.
