Searching For Hidden Damage in the AOR
Senior Airman Tyler Koonst, 379th Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) Journeyman, applies a magnetic particle bath to a bolt from a main landing wheel in order to search for cracks or defects, May 14, 2009 at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia. The NDI team inspects aircraft parts for defects or damage and also supports the Joint Oil Analysis Program, throughout the U.S. Central Command's Area of Responsibility. Airman Koonst hails from Belle Plaine, Minn. and is deployed from the 934th Airlift Wing Air Reserve Station, Minn. in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa.
