Microwaves Heat Up Communications Throughout the AOR

Senior Airman James Perez, 379th Expeditionary Communication Squadron microwave communication technician, checks and monitors sites to ensure the microwave antennas are providing the proper signal strength to send and receive data, May 2, 2009, at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia. The microwave communications technicians provide voice and data via microwave transmission and equipment for microwave units used throughout forward operating locations in the U.S. Central Command's Area of Responsibility. Airman Perez hails from Salinas, Calif. and is deployed from Camp Zama, Japan in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa.
