Challenge pushes Airmen and Soldiers

Senior Airman Matthew McCarthy kicks down a door on a tactical entry trainer as Staff Sgt. Cory Bobo, Senior Airman Paulo Giraldo and Senior Airman Erin Kinney wait to enter during a Defender Challenge course, April 25 at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia. At the end of the course the team would have to identify everything they saw inside to earn points towards their score. Airman McCarthy, Sergeant Bobo and Airman Giraldo are with the 380th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron and Airman Kinney is with the 380th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron. The team won the competition beating out second place by one second. Airman McCarthy is deployed from Bolling AFB, Wash. D.C. and hails from Omaha, Neb. Sergeant Bobo is deployed from Aviano AB, Italy and hails from Athens Ohio. Airman Giraldo is deployed form Bolling AFB, Wash. D.C. and hails from Revere, Mass.
