1st Lt. Luis Garces, a 379th Expeditionary Operations Group C-21 Pilot, removes a pitot tube cover during a routine pre-flight inspection on a USAF C-21 aircraft, Apr. 15, 2009, at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia. The C-21 is an operational support airlift aircraft for transporting personnel and provides emergency medical evacuation transport if needed within the U.S. Central Command's Area of Responsibility. Lt. Garces hails from Queens, N.Y. and is deployed from Scott Air Force Base, Ill. in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa.
