SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Five hundred-pound 'smart' bombs are loaded in the forward bay of a B-1 Lancer on the flightline here. The 'smart' bomb has a guidance system and movable tail section that helps guide the bomb to its target. The B-1 is a superior weapons systems with its large playload and flexible munitions configuration.
