Pre-Flight Checks

1st lieutenant Clint Waitkus, a pilot with the 340th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron, pre-flights a KC-135R Stratotanker prior to take off, March 5, 2009, in an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia. The pilots and boom operator all run through pre-flight checks to ensure all systems are operating properly and the aircraft is mission ready. Lieutenant Waitkus is native to Tucson Ariz. and is deployed from Royal Air Force, Mildenhall, England in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa.
