A-10 unit reaches 10K combat hour milestone
Lt. Col. Sam "Spam" Milam, 75th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron commander, shakes hands with Col. Raymond "Donk" Strasburger, 455th Expeditionary Operations Group commander, shortly after the pair completed a mission that logged more than 10,000 combat flight hours for the 75th EFS in a single deployment to Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan. This was the first time a squadron deployed here reached 10,000 combat hours. The 75th EFS arrived here from Moody Air Force Base, Ga., in September for a four-month deployment, but was extended to six months. The A-10 Thunderbolt II was the first tactical fighter aircraft to deploy here in 2002.
