Operation Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Combined Joint Task Force- Horn of Africa

Senior Airman Frank Johnstone, a jet engine mechanic with the 55th Aircraft Maintenance Unit, preps engine fan blades from an RC-135 Rivet Joint surveillance aircraft for a 1500 hour inspection, Feb. 5, 2009, in an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia. Preventive maintenance is performed to ensure the aircraft is mission ready and is able to provide near real time, on-scene intelligence collection, analysis and dissemination of acquired information. Airman Johnstone is originally from San Benito, Texas and deployed from Offutt Air Force Base, Neb. in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa.
