SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Airman 1st Class Ryan Nolan from the 380th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron surveys land around a recently moved structure here. Airman Nolan is using a Trimble Survey Rover to perform this operation. The rover uses triangulation with a base station to set coordinates for a base map and allows for up to .01m accuracy of base assets. Airman Nolan performs this task for a variety of purposes such as construction of a maintenance pad and new dormitories in preparation for the arrival of Soldiers from the 5-52 Air Defense Artillery Battalion, Fort Bliss, Texas. Airman Nolan is deployed from the 75th CES Ramstein Air Base, Germany. His hometown is Pekin, Ill. (U.S. Air Force photo/ Tech. Sgt. Christopher A. Campbell) (released)
