Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa
Airman 1st Class Fernando De Souza, an air transportation Journeyman assigned to the 8th Expeditionary Air Mobility Squadron, unlocks pallets on a 60K loader, Jan. 2, 2009, at an undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. The pallets are on two bridged 60K loaders and have to be unlocked for movement to a Russian Antonov 124-100 aircraft. The Antonov will deliver a load of 7 pallets and a heavy equipment vehicle farther into the Central Command area of responsibility. The equipment and supplies will support operations in Afghanistan. Airman De Souza is a native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, and deployed from McGuire Air Force Base, N.J., in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa.
