Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa

Staff Sgt. Ronald Gasper, a fuels lab technician assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron, conducts a flash point test, Dec. 8, at an undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. The flash point test is used to determine the temperature at which the fuel will ignite. The fuel is slowly warmed and every two degrees an ignition coil is briefly exposed over the fuel to identify how hot the fumes must be to ignite. Sergeant Gasper, a native of Omaha, Neb., is deployed from Scott Air Force Base, Ill., in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa.
