Qarghaii officially announced as ‘Peace District’

LAGHMAN PROVINCE, Afghanistan--Several Afghan boys from the Gulpacha Ulfat High School sing a poem at a ceremony here Feb. 12. The ceremony was held to celebrate the province’s Qarghaii District being officially declared a "Peace District" by President Karzai's office. The official announcement was made Feb. 11 and the ceremony was held in the Mehtar Lam Sarag Garden and attended by more than 125 people. (Photo by Air Force Captain Heather Kekic)
