Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa

Master Sgt. Samuel O'Donnell, non-destructive inspection craftsman assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron, makes connection with a probe to a upper centerline longeron of a B-1B Lancer, while Senior Airman Tysean Wilson, NDI journeyman assigned to the 379 EMXS, uses eddy current to check the structural integrity, Nov. 29, at an undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. The non-destructive inspection is used to check for fatigue cracks in this high stress area. The B-1 is the backbone of America's long-range bomber force. It can rapidly deliver massive quantities of precision and non-precision weapons against any adversary, anywhere in the Central Command area of responsibility. Sergeant O'Donnell is a native of Omaha, Neb., and deployed from Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D. Airman Wilson hails from Yuba City, Calif., and is deployed from Langley AFB, Va. Both are deployed in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Michael Boquette/Released)
