Commanders serve holiday meal to deployed Airmen

SOUTHWEST ASIA -- (Left to right) The 380th Air Expeditionary Wing Commander Brig. Gen. HD Polumbo, Jr., serves Thanksgiving Day vittles to base members with Lt. Col. Michael Shea, 380th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron commander, and Lt. Gen. Gary North, Air Forces Central and 9th Air Force commander, at Roy's Diner here Nov. 27. The 380th AEW is just one stop on General North's itinerary visiting deployed Airmen in the Area of Responsibility for the holiday. The AFCENT commander said Roy's is always one of his favorite stops in the AOR as the tented dining facility is reminscent of a "mom-and-pop restaurant back home in the states." This is the last Thanksgiving meal to be served at Roy's, as it is scheduled to be closed in the near future. The Containerized Deployment Kitchen is the last of its kind in the AOR.
