Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa

Senior Airman Robert Lewis, aircraft maintenance journeyman assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, watches a plumb bob ton ensure a KC-135 Stratotanker remains level as it is raised on jacks, Nov. 12, at an undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. The KC-135 is being jacked up for a landing gear strut replacement. Stratotankers provide the core aerial refueling capability for the Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and allied nation aircraft operating in the Central Command area of responsibility. Airman Lewis hails from Kilbourne, La., and is deployed from McConnell Air Force Base, Kan., in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa.
