Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa

Airman 1st Class Joseph Marion, crew chief assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, operating the tow vehicle, backs a C-130 Hercules into position, Nov.11, at an undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. A team of 4 spotters are positioned around the aircraft, front, back and each side, and another crew chief rides in the cockpit to apply brakes when the aircraft is in position. C-130s are capable of operating from rough, dirt strips and are the prime transport for air dropping troops and equipment into hostile areas within the Central Command area of responsibility.
