Airman 1st Class Eren Kipp pumps air into a valve holding up a cowling on a C-17 Globemaster III engine while Staff Sergeant Chad Laux disconnects the cowl door rod prior to trouble shooting the shut-off valve, Nov. 10, at an undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. The team works its way down a checklist until the shut-off valve problem is solved. The C-17 is capable of rapid strategic delivery of troops and all types of cargo to main operating bases or directly to forward bases in the Central Command area of responsibility.
