Removing the chalks
Airman 1st Class Justin Cole, 62nd Expeditionary Reconnaissance Squadron crew chief, removes the chalks of an MQ-1 Predator at a base in southern Afghanistan, Oct. 25. Despite the unmanned, remote nature of the aircraft, they are still treated with all the same precautions and considerations of the larger, manned airframes. Airman Cole is deployed from the 432nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Creech Air Force Base, Nevada, and hails from Orange Park, Fla. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Samuel Morse/Released)
