Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa

Staff Sgt. Jacques English, optometry technician assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Medical Group, uses his radio and Airman's Manual to report information about unexploded ordinance discovered while conducting a post-attack reconnaissance sweep during a base-wide defense response exercise Oct. 22, at an undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. PAR teams are responsible for ensuring the perimeter of their facility is safe and assisting any injured personnel found outside. Sergeant English, a native of Fayetteville, N.C., is deployed from the Air Force Academy, Colo., in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa.
