Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa

Tech. Sgt. Reggie Rittenhouse uses binoculars to maintain visual contact with incoming aircraft while Staff Sgt. Casandra Marshall grants clearance to an aircraft using the ground control frequency Oct. 7, 2008, at an undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. Both sergeants are air traffic control supervisors assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Operations Support Squadron and are responsible for safely launching and recovering dozens of aircraft supporting Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa daily. Sergeant Rittenhouse, a native of Philadelphia, Pa., is deployed from Aviano Air Base, Italy, and Sergeant Marshall, a native of Nashville, Ark., is deployed from Minot Air Force Base, N.D.
