Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa
Tech. Sgt. Bryan Harris, 379th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 746th Aircraft Maintenance Unit, performs an exhaust inspection on a C-130 Hercules October 3, 2008. Sgt Harris checks for leaks and cracks following an engine test after repair at an undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. Capable of takeoffs and landings from unprepared runways, the C-130 was originally designed as a troop, medical evacuation, and cargo transport aircraft. The versatile airframe has found uses in a variety of roles and humanitarian aid operations throughout the area of operations. Sergeant Harris, a native of Binghamton, N.Y., is deployed from Yokota AB, Japan, in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa.
