Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa
Tech. Sgt. Chris Reiter, 379th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 340th Aircraft Maintenance Unit, checks tolerance on a KC-135 landing gear axle Sept. 28, 2008, at an undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. The tolerance is checked at both the front and rear to assure it is still within limits. The brake set had to be replaced when a crack in the heat shield was detected during a post-flight inspection. Sergeant Reiter, a native of Farmington, N.M., is deployed from Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash., in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa.
