Airman 1st Class James Giesick, 379th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 340th Aircraft Maintenance Unit, slides a protective boot on to a KC-135 landing gear axle before removing an unserviceable brake unit Sept. 28, 2008, at an undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. The tire needs to be removed and the brake unit replaced after a crack in the heat shield was detected during a post-flight inspection.
