Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa
Tech. Sgt. James Thomas and Airman 1st Class Jonathan Church, both assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron, shovel dirt and rock away from the base of a broken water main Sept. 15, 2008. Shovels are used for the close in work of clearing dirt and rock from the section of pipe, so work can begin on water restoration procedures here at an undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. The engineers work to restore water after the overnight pipe break caused a shut down of water for the entire Blatchford-Preston Complex. Sergeant Thomas hails from Atlanta, Ga., and is deployed from Charleston Air Force Base, S.C. Airman Church is a native of Gloucester, Mass., and is deployed from McGuire AFB, N.J. Both are here in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Michael Boquette/Released)
