Staff Sgt. David Bengate, 379th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron, carefully operates a backhoe to clear dirt from around a broken section of water main Sept. 15, 2008. The broken pipe led to a shut down of water in all of the Blatchford-Preston Complex at an undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. Sergeant Bengate, a native of Cadillac, Mich., is deployed from McConnell Air Force Base, Kan., supporting Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa.
