Congressional Delegation visits Air National Guardsmen

BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan – Rep. Martha Roby (Ala.), House of Appropriations Committee, hugs U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Cynthia Jackson, maintenance supply NCOIC after learning of Jackson’s birthday. Jackson joined several other deployed mothers from the 187th Fighter Wing, Montgomery, Ala. as they greeted a congressional delegation comprised of Roby; Rep. Susan Davis (Calif.), House of Armed Services Committee; Rep. Niki Tsongas (Mass.), House of Armed Services Committee; Rep. Renee Ellmers (N.C.), Energy & Commerce Committee; Rep. Cheri Bustos (Ill.), Agriculture; Transportation & Infrastructure; Ms. Debra Wada, professional staff member; Ms. Jaime Cheshire, senior advisor to the chairman and Maj. Janine Garner, U. S. Marine Corps service escort during their visit to Afghanistan May 12, 2014. Roby, a native of Alabama is a member of an annual Mother’s Day congressional delegation that visits Afghanistan to check the well-being and quality of life of American and Afghan women serving in the military.
