U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Michael Vangorp, 379th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron firefighter, is prepped by U.S. Army Spec. Vanessa Galvan, 3rd Battalion, 43rd Air Defense Artillery medic, with moulage for a medic of the year competition at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, May 1, 2014. The Soldiers were tested on skills like combat lifesaving and tactical combat casualty care during the competition. Vangorp is deployed from Scott Air Force Base, Illinois and hails from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Galvan is deployed from Fort Bliss, Texas and hails from Las Cruces, New Mexico.
