Nearly 150 service members run during sunset during a Pat Tillman remembrance run at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, April 26, 2014, to honor the legacy of a man who gave up everything to fight for the freedoms of American citizens. April 22, 2014, marked the tenth anniversary of Tillman’s death, and the men and women who are stationed at AUAB ran to remember his sacrifices as an Army Ranger. Forty two is a number closely associated to Tillman, as it was his jersey number when he played football for Arizona State University as a linebacker, which is why the participants ran a total of 4.2 miles.
