Wing commander works with aircraft maintainers
Brig. Gen. Roger Watkins, 379th Air Expeditionary Wing commander, assists Senior Airman Brandon Mayer, a 379th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron aerospace propulsion technician, with routine oil servicing of a jet fuel starter on a RC-135V/W Rivet Joint reconnaissance aircraft at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, April 8, 2014. Scheduled inspections afford maintainers the opportunity to accomplish preventative actions and posture the aircraft to perform at its maximum potential, providing near real time on-scene intelligence collection, analysis and dissemination capabilities. Watkins periodically engages with maintenance Airmen to learn about the issues they encounter while generating combat aircraft in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Mayer is deployed from Offutt Air Force Base and a native of Naples, N.Y. Watkins is stationed at AUAB and hails from Fort Worth, TX. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Miguel Marrera)
