C-17 Airlift Mission
U.S. Air Force Capt. Lauren Hoyt and 1st Lt. Mark Benischeck, 816th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron pilots, prepare to land a C-17 Globemaster III at Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan, Jan. 23, 2014. The crew landed at Bagram to airlift Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles out of Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom retrograde operations. Equipment is airlifted to regional logistics hubs where it is then sent by sealift to its final location.
