Airmen keep aircraft on schedule
Senior Airman Michael Johnson (right) from the 379th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 746th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Unit propulsion flight, aligns a C-130 engine on to an engine stand as Staff Sgt. Andrew McConkay, 557th Expeditionary Red Horse Squadron heavy equipment operator, looks on at the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing, Southwest Asia, Dec. 11, 2013. The 557th ERHS supported the engine swap by providing the crane and personnel to hoist the engine out and install the new engine. The combined efforts contributed to the engine being changed out in 12 hours and the aircraft ready to fly on schedule. Johnson is deployed from Keesler Air Force Base, Miss., and a Mobile, Ala., native. McConkay is deployed from Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., and a Salt Lake City native.
