Bagram doctor provides eye glasses to Afghans
Airman 1st Class Chellbie Gonzales, 455th Expeditionary Medical Group ophthalmologist technician, conducts an eye exam on an Afghan patient before determining her prescription in the Korean Hospital on Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan, Sept. 18. Following the exam, Gonzales searched through hundreds of donated eye glasses for a matching prescription. Since arriving on Bagram five months ago, Maj. Marcus Neuffer, ophthalmologist and his assistant Gonzales, established a glasses donation center to provide glasses to Afghan and coalition members in need. The glasses come from former patients and non-profits. This is the second time they have held an eye glasses clinic here. They both are deployed from Keesler Air Force Base, Miss. (U.S. Air Force photo/ Staff Sgt. Stephenie Wade)
