Host nation invites Grand Slam officers to Iftar dinner
Local military leaders socialize before the start of an Iftar dinner base leadership was invited to participate in Southwest Asia, July 21, 2013. Iftar means "to break fast," and refers to the evening meal after sunset when Muslims break their fast during the Islamic month of Ramadan. At approximately 6:30 p.m., just as the sun sets, the ‘Call to Prayer’ occurs, signaling the breaking of the fast. (U.S. Air Force photo/Lt. Col. Craig Punches)
